At winerecommender.com we are trying to find wines for you, which suit your personal taste.


You can select the wines you like, you can rate your wines, you can put comments onto your wines, which can be either private or public and you can see, what other people think about a particular wine.


Technically we use collaborative filtering algorithms, which basically compute "people, who like your wines, also like..."
If you want to discuss our algorithms and the quality of our recommendations with us, you are more than welcome.
So far we assume, that old fashioned correlations unfortunately arrive at recommendations which favour popular wines. The nearest neighbour approach on the other hand arrives at much better recommendations, but you need a high number of "likes" in order to give recommendations based on this algoritm. At the moment we simply combine both algorithms. If there is a better way - let us know.
